Christine Flynn - President

 

Christine Flynn is a litigation paralegal at Swartz Campbell LLC.  She currently works for one of the managing partners.  She has over 20 years of legal experience. Ms. Flynn received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from the Community College of Philadelphia. She has considerable experience in insurance defense litigation including personal injury, coverage issues and bad faith claims.  Ms. Flynn is the Chair of the Litigation Committee of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals. 

 

She is also a member of the paralegal mentor program at the Community College of Philadelphia.  She also serves on the Paralegal Studies Advisory Board.  Christine also serves on the Ethics Board as well as the Ad Hoc Committee on Access to Legal Services of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) and for 2010 is the primary representative to the Keystone Alliance on behalf of the Association. 

 

 

Sharon DeNofa, R.P. -  First Vice-President

 

Sharon A. Denofa is a Paralegal with LUCAS AND CAVALIER, LLC.  Areas of practice include products liability, commercial litigation, professional liability, commercial insurance defense, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, maritime personal injury and premises liability. She has considerable experience in attending complex jury trials throughout the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Ms. DeNofa is also an Adjunct Instructor for PRISM Career Institute. Ms. DeNofa received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College in 1996.  Ms. DeNofa is serving her fifth year on the Board of Directors for The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals. 

 

 

Tausha Major -  Second Vice-President

 

Tausha Major is a senior paralegal with more than 20 years experience.  She is a full time paralegal at the Law Firm of Shaffer & Gaier, LLC.  She also provides freelance paralegal services through her company, The Administrative Link.  Her specialty areas include personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, product liability and civil litigation.  Tausha earned a Paralegal Certificate in 1989 from The Career Institute.  She also earned a B.S. in Business Communications from Chestnut Hill College and an MBA in Management from Eastern University.

 

Tausha is a huge advocate for professional development.  She is the Coordinator of Adult Learning for Bethany Baptist Church, home to more than 28,000 members.  She designed its program and various workshops addressing the specific needs of non-traditional students.  She is a regular guest speaker and lecturer at colleges, seminars and other venues.  Tausha currently serves as Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee and is an active member of the Education, Newsletter and Technology Committees.

 

She is currently Chair for its Members Services Committee.  She was presented with the 2002, 2003 and 2007 Special Achievement Award from The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals for her significant contributions to the Association.  Ms. DeNofa is a member of the paralegal mentor program at Community College of Philadelphia. Ms. DeNofa is a PACE-Registered Paralegal.

 

 

Maryanne Ebner -  Treasurer 

 

Maryanne Ebner is the Senior Paralegal and Department Administrator of the Employment Law Group at Spector Gadon & Rosen, PC.  Maryanne works with a team led by a nationally renowned civil rights attorney.   She specializes in civil rights, constitutional and federal law, and has over 15 years of experience in the legal profession.  Originally a pre-med student at Temple University, she has incorporated these studies for use in medical malpractice and insurance defense work, and also has extensive experience in maritime and corporate law.  Maryanne attended Peirce College for paralegal studies, and has also received certification as a real estate agent from Temple University.  She has worked in the larger community as a crisis counselor for the William Way Center, and is currently working as a Resource Builder and tax preparer for low income families with the Campaign for Working Families. She formerly served as Assistant Managing Editor of The Philadelphia Forum, The Philadelphia Association of Paralegal’s newsletter, and has written extensively for that publication. 

 

She has also been published in The Legal Intelligencer, and numerous other publications.  She is a faculty member for The Institute for Paralegal Education and The National Business Institute. She has served the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals Board of Directors as assistant secretary and assistant treasurer, has been a member of the Professional Development Committee.

 

 

Kim Walker - Secretary 

 

Kim Walker is employed as a Senior Litigation Paralegal with the law firm of Berger & Montague, P.C. where she specializes in complex litigation, securities class actions and consumer class actions.   She attended the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training and received her Paralegal Certification in 1984.  Currently she attends Gloucester County Community College where she studies Web/Graphic Design.

 

Kim is the Founder and Chair of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals’ Technology Committee and the Chair of the Healthcare Committee.  She is a staff writer for the Philadelphia  Forum, has been published in the Legal Intelligencer and is a member of the faculty of the Institute for Paralegal Education.  In her spare time she blogs at Paralegal Pie, volunteers for Maternity Care Coalition, Crossing the Finish Line and serves as a mentor at the Community College of Philadelphia. 

 

 

Judy Stouffer, R.P. - Assistant Secretary 

 

Judy Stouffer is a senior paralegal with Berner Klaw & Watson LLP, a boutique family law firm where she has been employed for the past 13 years.  She has worked in Philadelphia as a paralegal on and off for the past 24 years.  Judy previously attended the University of Pittsburgh, and earned her Registered Paralegal (RP®) designation by passing NFPA®’s Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE®) in August 2008.  Judy is an active member of the Pro Bono, Family Law, Membership, PACE/RP, 2010 Convention and Education Committees.  She was the recipient of the Association’s 2007 inaugural Pro Bono Award.  Judy regularly volunteers for PILCOP and the ACLU, as well as United Way/The Campaign for Working Families and Philadelphia VIP. 

 

She has also served as a mentor for student paralegals participating in the Paralegal Studies Program of Community College of Philadelphia.

 

 

Jamerra Cherry – Board Member 

 

Jamerra Cherry is a Defense Medical Malpractice Paralegal with the Healthcare Practice Group of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin. She is the sole Paralegal to the Shareholder of the Healthcare Practice Group and also the Paralegal to four Associates who specialize in Medical Malpractice.  Jamerra's specialty areas include civil litigation, mental health, sexual abuse, foster care abuse, nursing home liability, and premise liability. Jamerra has written numerous articles for the Legal Intelligencer and was appointed the Managing Editor of the Philadelphia Forum Newsletter. Jamerra studied at the Main Line Paralegal Institute and has twelve years of legal experience.  She is a very active member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals and serves as Co-Chair for the Technology Committee and Health Care Issues Committee. 

 

She stays active in the legal community as a mentor and  member of the Paralegal Studies Advisory Board for the Community College of Philadelphia. In  2009, Jamerra was asked to serve as a  legal technology expert for the TASA Group. In 2010, Jamerra will begin teaching legal technology classes as a member of the faculty for the Institute for Paralegal Education.

 

 

Diana Cook - Board Member 

 

Diana is employed as a litigation paralegal with DLA PIPER LLP (US). Diana works in the areas of Intellectual Property Litigation and Securities Litigation.  She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Management from College Misericordia.  Diana previously attended Lehigh Carbon Community College where she took classes toward a Post Bachelor ABA Paralegal Certificate.   

 

Currently, Diana serves as the Editor-In-Chief of The Philadelphia Forum and is also Chair of the Newsletter Committee.  In addition, she was the previous Managing Editor of The Philadelphia Forum. Diana was presented with a Special Achievement Award in March of 2009 for Outstanding Performance and Lasting Contributions to the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals.  

 

 

Kirsten G. Fullerton - Board Member  

 

Kirsten is employed as a litigation paralegal with McCarter & English, LLP.  Kirsten works primarily in the area of product liability litigation. She also has experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance coverage and subrogation litigation.  Kirsten has been a litigation paralegal for over 25 years with a resume which includes Dechert, LLP, Cozen O’Connor, as well as Unisys Corporation. Kirsten has been a member of PAP since 1985. Kirsten founded the Professional Development Committee in 2000 and served as its chair during 2000 and 2001.

 

She also served as the Chair of the Job Bank from 1999 through 2001. She served as Secretary for the Board of Directors during 2000, First Vice-President during 2001 and President during 2002.   In 2003, Kirsten served as Chair of the 30th Anniversary Committee.  She also chaired the Public Relations & Marketing Committee from 2004 - 2007 and currently is active as a member of that committee. 

 

Kirsten Fullerton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Gettysburg College, along with a Paralegal Certificate in Litigation Management from the Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia, Pa. Ms. Fullerton is a past recipient of the Association’s Presidents’ Award (March 2005) and has received the Association’s Special Achievement Awards in  2005 and 2009.  

 

 

Lyndora Patterson Tiller – Board Advisor 

 

Lyndora is a Senior Paralegal Specialist in the Litigation Practice Group at Independence Blue Cross, assisting attorneys in employment law, immigration, insurance and litigation matters. She received her paralegal certificate from Main Line Paralegal Institute and has over 20 years of legal experience.  Lyndora is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honor Society and her name appears in the edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Lyndora has been a member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals since 2001.  

 

Lyndora currently serves as Board Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals. Lyndora also currently serves as Co-Chair on the Education Committee, Board Member on Delaware County Community College’s Paralegal Advisory Board and is a member of the Litigation and Professional Development Committees.  

 

In previous years, Lyndora was a member of the Litigation, Immigration, Medical Legal and Professional Development Committees.  She served as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors, co-chaired the Education Committee and is the immediate Past President.  She served as an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association for 2008 - 2009 and received an award for invaluable and dedicated service to the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors.  Lyndora has been published in The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals’ Newsletter, The Philadelphia Forum and The Legal Intelligencer.  In 2010, Lyndora was presented with an Appreciation Award for her dedication and service to the Association and the paralegal profession.
