Lyndora Patterson Tiller – President

Lyndora is a Senior Paralegal Specialist in the Litigation Practice Group at Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, PA. She received her paralegal certificate from Main Line Paralegal Institute and has over 20 years of legal experience.  Lyndora is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honor Society and her name appears in the edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Lyndora has been a member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals since 2001.  In previous years, she served as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors, co-chaired the Education Committee and is a member of the Litigation, Immigration, Medical Legal and Professional Development Committees. 
Lyndora has been elected to serve as President of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals.  In this capacity, she also serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association.  Lyndora is also a Board Member for Delaware County Community College’s Paralegal Advisory.

Renee Mazzeo – First Vice-President 

Renee is a litigation paralegal at Kent & McBride assisting attorneys in construction, medical malpractice and personal injury matters.   She currently works with six attorneys and assists them in all aspects of litigation.  She received her Certification in Paralegal Studies from Penn State University in 1990.  She has over 20 years legal experience.  Renee has been a member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals since 2000 and is Co-Chair of the Public Relations/Marketing Committee for 2008.  She  is also the contact  for PAP’s Legalmen Project.  She has also served on PAP’s Board of Directors as Assistant Secretary.  

Sharon DeNofa, R.P. -  Second Vice-President

SHARON A. DENOFA is a Paralegal with LUCAS AND CAVALIER, LLC.  Areas of practice include products liability, commercial litigation, professional liability, commercial insurance defense, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, maritime personal injury and premises liability.  She has considerable experience in attending complex jury trials throughout the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Ms. DeNofa received her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College in 1996.  Ms. DeNofa is 2nd Vice President on the Board of Directors for The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals as well as Editor-in-Chief for the Philadelphia Forum and Chair for its Members Services Committee.  She was presented with the 2002,  2003 and 2007 Special Achievement Award from The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals for her significant contributions to the Association.  Ms. DeNofa is a member of the paralegal mentor program at Community College of Philadelphia.  Ms. DeNofa is a PACE-Registered Paralegal.

Alafia Aycock, Secretary

Alafia Y. Aycock is a Real Estate Paralegal at Comcast Cable in Philadelphia, PA.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology from Penn State University in December of 1999.  In 2001, Alafia received her ABA approved Paralegal Certificate from Villanova University. Additionally, she has been a member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals since 2006 and was a student member while attending Villanova in 2001. 

Alafia began her paralegal career working for Commerce Bank in the Real Estate Department performing Commercial Loan Closings.  Thereafter, Alafia worked for some of center city’s largest large law firms such as Dechert LLP and Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP in the Real Estate Department.

Additionally Alafia currently serves on The Board of Governors of The Nile Swim Club of Yeadon, as Treasurer. 

Alafia is the current co-chair of the Associations’ Public Relations and Marketing Committee.

Paula Wright – Treasurer

Paula has been a Senior Trademark Paralegal with Pepper Hamilton LLP since June 2004.  Previously, Paula was an intellectual property paralegal with Lucent Technologies for more than five years.  While Paula's experience for the last nine years has been focused primarily on intellectually property matters, she began her career as a litigation paralegal handling asbestos, environmental, medical malpractice and personal injury cases.
Paula graduated from the University of Delaware in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology.  Later that same year, Paula received her Paralegal Certificate from the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training.
Paula has been a member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals since 2004 and has been a member of the Board since January 2007.  In addition, she currently is a member of the Intellectual Property and Newsletter committees.

Mary Chan -  Assistant Treasurer

Mary M. Chan is currently a Litigation Paralegal for Comcast Corporation.  Mary received her paralegal certification from Colorado State University in August 2007.  Presently, Mary is completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management at Holy Family University.  Mary maintains a 3.60 GPA and will complete her course work in January 2009.  After graduation, Mary intends to attain a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Mary has ten years of paralegal experience in the practice areas of employment law, general litigation and regulatory law.  In addition, Mary has several years of experience in mediating cases. 

As a member of the Board, Mary’s goals are to support the organization’s efforts to advance the profession and promote the professionalism and wellbeing of its members.  Mary believes that there is an expanding role for paralegals beyond the traditional legal community, in organizations where legal information and research is necessary in the ordinary course of business.  Along with being a member of the Board, Mary is also Chair of the Professional Development Committee. 

Valerie A. Dolan, R.P. – Board Advisor

In 1996, Valerie joined Dolchin, Slotkin & Todd, P.C. as a Corporate and Estate Paralegal, due to her background in banking, and then transferred to Litigation in 1997.  In February 2006, Valerie joined the Law Offices of David T. Shulick, Esquire as a Litigation Paralegal. 

Valerie currently serves as Board Advisor of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals, Primary Delegate for National Federation of Paralegal Associations and Primary Delegate for Keystone Alliance.  Valerie was also recently appointed Chairperson of the Keystone Alliance.  Valerie previously served on the following committees: 30th Anniversary, Professional Development, Public Relations & Marketing, Newsletter and Immigration. Valerie obtained her R.P. designation on June 1, 2004. 

As a member of the Board, Valerie would like to assist in the promotion of the paralegal profession and the need for continuing legal education.
